Position:                   Finance Assistant Intern
Location:                  Mogadishu, Somalia.
Reports to:               Senior Finance Officer

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Make all payments in accordance with RI finance procedures and finance checklist: – Review supporting documents for each payment to ensure completeness before payment is done and prepare payments vouchers for every payment.
Make sure that expenditures have been verified with the correct coding, approval before payment is processed.
Prepare monthly financial  reports  and  submit  to  Senior Finance Officer a report, containing- cashbook and bank reconciliation.
To post the transactions in NetSuite on weekly basis and inform the Senior Finance Officer to review and approve.
Daily capturing of Petty Cash, Bank and WCA transactions on Offline Spreadsheet and reconcile with the Petty Cash, Bank & WCA register balances and verify the balances with the actual physical balances on daily, monthly and on demand basis.
Plan and organize weekly and monthly cash counts and file signed records on cash count file.
Ensure that unused cheque pads received from bank are complete, keep records for their issuance, and maintain proper records of books.
Ensures that the Field financial and related documents are properly filed in well labelled with correct information on each file box every month and to be ready at any time to be transferred to the central archives as needed.
Comply with all relevant RI policies and procedures with respect to Child protection, health and safety, security, equal opportunities and other relevant policies.
Ensure the effective and efficient use of all RI resources in order to keep costs low and ensure the security of staff. This includes spot checks and inventories as appropriate, as well as annual srock take procedures.
To perform any other work/job as assigned by the Senior Finance Officer/Finance Manager/Field Manager.
Perform any other duties assigned by Supervisor, Finance Manager or Field Coordinator.

Other

Understand and adhere to Relief International established policies and procedures for administration, finance, procurement, data management and beneficiary data protection, child protection, Code of Conduct (including Sexual Exploitation and Abuse and Harassment) and security management;
Reinforcing and ensuring compliance to policies and procedures and support of Child protection Focal Point;
Be flexible and willing to support the team as is needed.

Qualifications&Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Finance is required or related discipline.
Excellent Excel skills.
Applicants are not required to have professional work experience.
Language Requirements:  Fluency in written and oral English and local language is required.
Computer Literate – Microsoft Office.
Teamwork Skills.
