JOB DESCRIPTION
Position title                   :      ICT Intern
Reporting to                   :      ICT Coordinator/Assistant
Location                        :      National Office
Supervisees:Non
Functional Department:ICT
Position Summary:
The ICT Intern is the co-worker who plans, implements and maintains all IT related topics and processes of his/her national association in close cooperation with the National ICT Coordinator and ICT Assistant and supervised by the ICT Assistant.
Main Purpose:
The main objective of the position is to assistant maintenance of basic hardware and software d, these tasks should be performed in accordance with SOS Childvern’s Villages and in coordination with the ICT Assistant, ICT Coordinator, He/She will ensure that the National office uses an information technology system that goes along with the technological advancement and the duty the NO is entrusted and keep the IT environment safe and secure, the organization is looking intern person to develop career-starding and gain expereince, the person should be typicall a fresh university graduate, to join the team as an ICT intern.
Priority Task and Responsibilities:

In coordination with ICT Coordinator, ICT Assistant, configurate and maintain basic ICT infrastructure, keeping it optimal working condition and complaint with SOS Children villages, through installation, proer configuration, reqular updates, preventive, maintenance, service, files backup/archiving, systems backup and disaster recovery.
Power supply and uninterrupted power suppy(UPS) systems; power cabling,power sockets, extension cables, earth/fusues, power surge protectors,power stabilizer inverters batteries
Will ensure personal computers hardware and software, laptops, desktops or any other workstation grade personal computer running microsoft windows 8 professional(or higher) including the standard set of software suites and utilites such as microsoft office, kaspersky anti virus, various digital-media utilities(PDF, Flash, etc)file compression, archiving, synchronization toolplans.
Ensuring that IT topics are reflected in the general national plan and the national budget
Ensuring the efficient and reliable use of appropriate IT infrastructure
Promoting the development of IT topics in the national office
Constantly monitor  system (servers) performance, monitor network communication
Create file systems and logs, create a backup and recovery policy
Implement IT policies for the use of the computer system and network
Research and recommend the purchase of network equipment, services and supplies.
Coordinate, direct and supervise computer network systems and operations.
Install, configure, and support the organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet system.
Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
Provides helpdesk assistance, evaluating problems and resolving issues by in person.
Quickly arrange and repair hardware in occasion of hardware failure
Any other task assigned your line manager

Qualification & Experience

Bachelor degree of information and technology (ICT)
understanding of Windows server 2008 R2 configuration and administration,
Network installation and configuration
Fresh student from university
Proven ICT technical experience of supporting users and systems in a large and complex organization
Sound experience in hardware and software maintenance, network management, software development, website development and systems administration.
BSc in computer science

Competencies – knowledge, skills, abilities
Practical Skills:

Network administration
Configuring and monitoring switches, routers and firewalls
Excellent organization skill in providing help online or onsite.
Ability to design and manage database in MS SQL,
Understanding of Microsoft network environments
Ability to manage Microsoft server 2008

Personal Qualities & Attributes:

Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
A good communicator with staff at all levels and an ability to translate technical information into amateur terms
Excellent attention to detail
Able to take the lead in particular area of responsibility
