WARDI Relief & Development Initiatives is a national non-profit making and non-governmental organization founded in June 1993 and subsequently registered under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the transitional federal government of Somalia through under Article 22, Para 1, 2, 3; Article 26 and Article 67 Para3 of the transitional federal charter of Somalia in 2004, as well as the Article 7, Article 26 and Article 32 of the first constitution of Somalia in 1960. Therefore, WARDI is a legally registered NGO in Somalia with a registration number of 0234/2012 and it has also registered under the NGOs coordination act of Kenya through NGOs coordination bureau of Kenya with registration number of OP.218/2010/0651/7033.
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Operations Director, Logistic and Procurement Officerwill responsible for efficient and effective management of logistical and Procurement functions .
Typical work activities of a Logistic and Procurement officer
Main responsibilities towards this project includes but not limited to:
Ensure the proper functioning of supply chain including procurement planning, purchasing of goods and services, their transport and storage, evaluate/report the need and ensure the proper use of equipment, assess and ensure the functioning of the means of communication appropriate.
Ensuring logistical function are carried out with the framework of WADI’s procedures and standards.
Implement concern’s procurement policies and procedures -as per manual.
Receiving ,checking and timely delivering of supplies and equipment to final destinations
main regular stock reports on all movement in and out of the store ,and up to date stock cards for all items safeguarding supplies and equipment either in WARDI stores and route to other locations.
Ensuring proper logistics filling system are in place all the time .
in accordance with WARDI’s logistic and procurement process and undertake all purchase .
Ensuring proper utilization of all logistical documents GRN and stock cards .
Manage Procurement documentation to ensure that all paperworkis complete .
Monitor fuel price, consumption rate, prepare monthly fuel consumption sheets for accounts submission
Ensure WARDI transport and rented vehicles are used solely for official business
Monitor transport movement and ensure vehicle remain in good condition
Ensure WARDI vehicles are properly maintained and their insurance cover are renewed on timely manner
Effective and timely handling of grievances between drivers and employee
On quarterly basis, maintain accurate and up to date fixed asset and inventory on all WARDI’s property
Monitor security situation regularly and report accordingly.
Keep staff updated on security issues and give advices where needed. Give security briefing to international staff, consultants and visitors
Ensure staff are aware of office safety measures and undertake drills periodically
Maintain regular radio contract with vehicle and field office
Competence, experience, skills, knowledge needed
University degree in Business administration or equivalent in relevant field).
Three years of working experience in logistic Area
Substantial knowledge of standard logistics procedures and practices required.
Ability to extract, interpret, analyze data and resolve problems.
Well-developed written and oral communication skills
Competency in computer skills including MS Office.
Fluency in English and Somali
