Background:
Action for Relief and Development (ARD) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) operating in South/Central Somalia. ARD seeks to address the causes and consequences of human suffering and poverty amongst some of the most vulnerable communities in South/Central Somalia at large through participatory relief and development intervention in partnership with Governmental and Non Governmental Organization. ARD is implementing a health projects Funded by SHF-OCHA in Elwak of Gedo region. ARD is recruiting Logistics Officer   to be based in Elwak Gedo  region on one Year based contract with a possibility of extension.
Job Description:                    
We are looking for a responsible Logistic Officer who will meet the requirements of the project activities in the areas of operation and working closely and directly reporting to the project Manager.
Job Summary 

The Logistics Officer will work in direct support of the health Project staff and in close consultation with ARD Program Coordinator.
The Logistics Officer will assist the health Program in planning and execution of reception, storage, transport and distribution of equipment and inventory (assets) at all levels of ARD’s health program in South Central Somalia.
She / He will be responsible for assisting the Health in ensuring that the Logistics and Procurement component of the Program is implemented according to ARD‘s policies and guidelines
The Logistics Officer will assist with the co-ordination of distribution arrangements and all administrative aspects of the work of the logistics supply chain.
Assist the health with the day-to-day administration of the Logistics supply chain.
Assist with planning, supervision and distribution to all field operations in close co-ordination with the project manager.
Ensure that all aspects of procurement for the health activities are done in line with ARD procurement policy.
With a generous and serving spirit perform all other tasks and responsibilities assigned for the benefit of ARD’s health projects in Somalia

Warehousing & Inventory
• Ensure an update and current warehouse tracking sheet for all stock
• Maintain oversight of all items purchased by ARD for its health project components including equipments required for the construction of wells
• Organize and manage the warehouse space and any storage space at the office to maximize storage space and easy/safe access.
• Monthly inventory of all the stores
Preparing and reviewing quotations and analyzing them for prize, quality, timeliness and services.
Qualifications/Experience

Degree in Business Administration, Procurement or Purchasing and Supplies.
Minimum working 2 years’ experience with an INGO or NGO
Good negotiating skills.
Must have good skills in computer proficiency in the use of word processing, spreadsheets software database programs.
Knowledge on proper warehouse management.
Knowledge of communication equipment and procedures.
Good knowledge of clearing and forwarding procedures.
