Office & Guesthouse Cook
CARE International is an international NGO working in Somalia/Somaliland. CARE and its partners work with vulnerable communities to address the underlying causes of poverty and promote peace and development, as well as mitigating immediate suffering caused by drought, conflict and displacement. We invite applications from experienced and talented individuals for the position ofOffice and Guest House Cookbased in Burao.
Position Summary
The Office and Guest House Cook is responsible for Burao guest house and office food preparations She/he is expected to ensure the preparation of high quality food, high degree of hygiene/ sanitation, and provide standardized services.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
The cook prepares and serves meals; determines timing and sequence of operations required to meet serving times; inspects kitchen and the equipment(cutleries) for cleanliness and proper storage and preparation of food
He/she is expected to prepare meals for all staffs both in the office and in the guesthouse
He/she expected to plan meals and taking inventory of stores and equipment
Leads and collaborates with other support staff such as cleaners
Determines time sequence of cooking operations for Burao guest house and office to meet meal-serving hours
Ensure standardized quality food and hygienic environment
Inspects kitchen equipment’s for cleanliness
Check the quality of raw or cooked food products to ensure that standards are met
Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations
Check the quantity and quality of received products
Order or request for food or other supplies such gas cylinders, equipment etc., needed to ensure efficient operation
Inspect supplies, equipment, or work areas to ensure conformance to established standards
Determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays
Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients
Record production or operational data on specified forms
Arrange for equipment purchases or repairs
Preparation of standard weekly menu for Burao guest house and office
Ensure that the staffs comply with all CARE polices including working hours and ethics
Any other task assigned by the supervisor
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

Education/Training

Certificate in Food Preparation

3.2 Experience

Minimum of 1 years of relevant experience, two of which should be with an NGO preferably with International NGO

Technical Skills

Good Communication skills
Result oriented and keen on detail

6          Working Conditions

This position is based in The incumbentis expected to observe CARE Somalia/Somaliland office security protocols.
