Background Summary
Somaliland Youth Development and Voluntary Organization (SOYDAVO) is a local non-governmental, non-profit making organization based in Burao, Somaliland with regional offices in Hargeisa and Erigavo.
SOYDAVO receiving funds from International Solidarity Foundation – ISF), have a long-standing commitment to address the violence against women and girls in Somaliland. SOYDAVO is one of the strategic partners of ISF and both of the organizations have collaborated with Gender Based Violence project in Togdheer region from 2014 to 2017.  The two organizations are now working on together with the second phase of the GBV project with more focus on FGM and economic empowerment. In that regard, SOYDAVO is looking for a qualified business development officer who will be a part of SOYDAVO’s project staff and responsible in the development and implementation of the business license model which aims to provide literacy and SBM skills to nearly 200 women and girls who will be selected from the target project villages.
Key Responsibilities
The business development officer will work under the supervision of SOYDAVO’s executive director and will be a part of dynamic team who are in charge of the finalizations of a project proposal.  While not exhaustive, the following list of responsibilities gives an overview of the key aspects of the role:

Continue developing SOYDAVO’s business License Model

Identify the gaps and contribute to the development of business model aimed to improve the small business management skills of the beneficiaries

Work with ISF’s Women’s Health Training Officer;

Contribute to the development of Women’s Health Module and provide any support needed by the health officer to finalize the contents and the module as well.

Develop and advice the best methodologies to implement the business skills model;

Develop and provide suggestions the best and most appropriate adult learning methodologies applicable to illiterate and semi-illiterate beneficiaries;

Skills Assessment and recruitment of the skills instructors;

Lead the skills assessment activities and develop criteria for hiring and recruiting the best skills instructor in the city;

Building relationships with the Micro-finance institutions and SMEs funders

Build a strong relationship with Micro-finance institutions and help beneficiaries to access funds from these institutions and other interested funders;

Monitoring and Reporting

Regular data collection and reporting according to the project monitoring and learning plan. Document success stories and Write reports on deliverables using the formats provided;

Any other roles

Carryout any other task as directed by the executive director

Required Qualifications and Experience

A relevant degree in Business, economics, or any other closely related fields.
At least 4 years of experience in a same role.
Proven track record of business development experiences including development of business skills and modules;
Evidence of Project management skills preferably livelihoods and business related projects in previous roles;
Result-driven, dynamic, and flexible;
Strong Communication skills in both verbal and writing; Multi-stakeholder facilitations skills
Commitment to achieve the project outcomes;
Knowledge of training and building the capacity of the SMEs
Competent with IT (Office packages)
Good business acumen, financial and budgetaryexperience

Desirable skills

Marketing and Media skills
Experience of working with Micro-finance institutions;
Knowledge of economic models
